\nJeffrey Eugenides (Pulitzer Prize winner, author of Middlesex and The Virgin Suicides, which was later made into a movie): Short Wikipedia article, major author, we can do a lot with this.

\nMarisha Pessl (wrote Special Topics in Calamity Physics, one of the New York Times' "10 best novels of 2006"): Special Topics in Calamity Physics was her debut novel, and the Wikipedia article on her is short and choppy. It's one of the best debut novels, as well as the most fully-realized teenage character I've read since Salinger's Catcher In The Rye. Out of the ones I'm listing, this is my favorite to do just because the novel was so strong and there's not a very good Wikipedia article about the author. I'm convinced Marisha Pessl is the greatest new author to emerge in the American literary world of the 21st century.

\nMichael Chabon (also a Pulitzer winner, wrote Wonder Boys, Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Mysteries of Pittsburgh): There's more info here, but he's a major literary figure.

\nJ.D. Salinger (I don't think I really need to introduce this one...author of Catcher In The Rye and in my opinion the greatest American fiction writer of all time.): It's topical, since he just died, but the Wikipedia article is good and he was so reclusive that there may not be a lot of material we can add to it.
